Artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly common—but how might it be used wisely within the life of the church? This introductory session will explore what AI is, how it is already showing up in faith-based organizations, and where it can help create more capacity for the relational and pastoral work that only people can do. The workshop is designed to be practical, hands-on, and approachable. No technical background is required. Bring a smartphone and laptop to get the most out of the session. The session will be led by Dr. Tad Dickel and Wes Luttrell of T.A. Dickel Group, LLC. To help maximize participation across churches, attendance is limited to three participants per church.
Clergy tax remains one of the most misunderstood areas of taxation for churches and ministry leaders—but understanding the rules can make a significant difference for clergy. This introductory session will cover important topics including housing allowance, FICA exemption, clergy tax qualifications, and the opportunities and challenges surrounding implementation. The workshop is designed to be practical, approachable, and helpful for both active and retired clergy as well as church and HR staff. The session will be led by Kevin M. Bittner, CPA, founder and president of Bittner Tax Service, LLC, a firm specializing in clergy taxation and nonprofit accounting solutions.
Using Data in Grant Writing will help participants understand how to identify, gather, and use relevant data to support a successful grant application.
Participants will have the confidence to use SAVI and to provide limited technical assistance to others on the mechanics of SAVI, as well as the basics of data literacy, pitfalls, sense-making, storytelling, and informed decision-making.
