SUMMARY:Giving For Impact – Level 1\, Day 2
DESCRIPTION:As a donor\, do you ever question whether your donations are having the impact you expect?  Do you often feel like you are just writing checks to organizations because they asked or because it makes you feel good? \nOver the past eight years\, our program\, Giving for Impact\, has made a tremendous difference in how people donate and partner with nonprofits. \nThe sole purpose of our training is to equip attendees with knowledge and help in developing relationships with the nonprofit community.  The training encourages individuals to learn more about who they are as donors by teaching them to identify their personal mission\, vision\, and core values to create charitable impact.  As a donor\, they will be equipped to know how to find fulfillment in their giving. \nOnce an individual understands who they are as a donor\, the program will build on that understanding by equipping them with knowledge of what a strong nonprofit organization looks like.  Donors will learn how to ask the right questions when meeting with a nonprofit and how to determine if they are actually making a difference.  Participants will learn what a healthy nonprofit partnership looks like and be able to create their own personal plan and philosophy of giving. \nThe 2026 Level I sessions are planned for March 5 and April 9. \nGiving for Impact is a great training program for individual donors as well as family foundations\, financial advisors\, wealth managers\, CPA’s\, estate planners\, attorneys or trust advisors. Regardless if you donate $50.00 per year or $50\,000.00 per year\, Giving for Impact is for anyone who desires to have a clearer understanding of themselves as a donor and has a desire to make a greater impact through their giving. \nJamie D. Levy\, from JDLevy & Associates\, an international speaker\, consultant\, and adjunct professor at Indiana University School of Philanthropy\, IU Fund Raising School\, and IU Paul H. O’Neill School of Public and Environment Affairs (IU SPEA)\, will guide you through understanding the strategies involved in making wise decisions regarding your philanthropic giving.  To learn more about Mr. Levy and JDLevy & Associates visit their website www.JDLevyAssociates.com \nThis training is supported through donations from Jim and Carol Havens\, JDLevy & Associates\, Community Foundation Alliance\, and the Welborn Baptist Foundation.  These donations allow Giving for Impact to offer this series at no cost to you. \nIf you have questions or would like additional information please do not hesitate to contact: Carol Havens havenscs@gmail.com  812-453-8654  Cara Steinkuhl carasteinkuhl@gmail.com 812-455-4321 or Jamie Levy jlevy@jdlevyassociates.com

SUMMARY:The Evolving Relationship Between Nonprofits and Government: Past\, Present\, and Future
DESCRIPTION:At a pivotal moment for the nonprofit sector\, the Center on Nonprofits and Philanthropy (CNP) at the Urban Institute will host the first in a series of 30th-anniversary convenings\, beginning with an exploration of the rapidly evolving relationship between government and nonprofits. Centered on three guiding questions—What forces have shaped that relationship in the past? What is happening now? And what might the relationship look like in the future?—this convening will look at the historical relationship between government and nonprofits\, assess current disruptions\, and help shape how the field understands and prepares for what lies ahead. \nAs nonprofits continue to play a critical role in supporting communities\, driving economic activity\, and demonstrating resilience during a tumultuous period\, this gathering offers a rare chance to step back\, reflect on the sector’s trajectory\, and explore how nonprofits might chart a path forward.

Many individuals feel unrecognized\, underutilized\, or stuck in roles that don’t align with their strengths\, while teams often struggle with inefficiency and miscommunication. Working Genius transforms the way people approach work by helping them leverage their natural gifts\, creating more engaged\, effective\, and successful teams. \nThe brief 15-minute Working Genius assessment provides individuals (and teams) with valuable insights into their natural strengths and workplace frustration areas.  Applying the team information in workshop facilitation brings these insights to life\, fostering team cohesion\, improving communication\, and equipping members with strategies to maximize productivity. With a shared understanding of how work gets done best\, teams can reduce frustration\, enhance collaboration\, and achieve greater success together. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nInstructors: Pam Goedde\, Denise Biggerstaff

SUMMARY:Giving For Impact – Level 1\, Day 1
DESCRIPTION:As a donor\, do you ever question whether your donations are having the impact you expect?
