SUMMARY:Giving For Impact – Level 2
DESCRIPTION:As a donor\, do you ever question whether your donations are having the impact you expect?  Do you often feel like you are just writing checks to organizations because they asked or because it makes you feel good? \nOver the past eight years\, our program\, Giving for Impact\, has made a tremendous difference in how people donate and partner with nonprofits. \nThe sole purpose of our training is to equip attendees with knowledge and help in developing relationships with the nonprofit community.  The training encourages individuals to learn more about who they are as donors by teaching them to identify their personal mission\, vision\, and core values to create charitable impact.  As a donor\, they will be equipped to know how to find fulfillment in their giving. \nOnce an individual understands who they are as a donor\, the program will build on that understanding by equipping them with knowledge of what a strong nonprofit organization looks like.  Donors will learn how to ask the right questions when meeting with a nonprofit and how to determine if they are actually making a difference.  Participants will learn what a healthy nonprofit partnership looks like and be able to create their own personal plan and philosophy of giving. \nGiving for Impact is a great training program for individual donors as well as family foundations\, financial advisors\, wealth managers\, CPA’s\, estate planners\, attorneys or trust advisors. Regardless if you donate $50.00 per year or $50\,000.00 per year\, Giving for Impact is for anyone who desires to have a clearer understanding of themselves as a donor and has a desire to make a greater impact through their giving. \nJamie D. Levy\, from JDLevy & Associates\, an international speaker\, consultant\, and adjunct professor at Indiana University School of Philanthropy\, IU Fund Raising School\, and IU Paul H. Whatever your audience\, weaving the data into a story is what communicates your findings to others\, whether it be a small data set\, large data set\, or multiple data sets. \nWHO SHOULD ATTEND? \nAnyone interested in taking the next step from understanding their data and visualizing it\, to telling a cohesive story to others about their data. \nWHAT WILL YOU LEARN? \n\nTo find the compelling narrative in your data\nTo connect facts that build a compelling argument\nTo use compelling graphics to communicate your point\nTo tailor your delivery to your audiences needs\n\nUSEFUL KNOWLEDGE TO HAVE BEFORE ATTENDING \nNo prior knowledge is required\, but you may find it useful to attend the Module 1A: Framing the Problem workshop prior to this one. In that workshop you learn how to frame problems so that you have specific and measurable questions that can help you meet your goals. You may also want to consider attending the Module 2A: Finding Existing Data workshop which explores where to find existing data and how to choose the right data source for answering your questions. \nThis offering is hosted by The Polis Center\, the creators of SAVI. DESCRIPTION:Leadership Everyone’s Community Leadership Program is a three-day intensive program (with a half-day follow-up session) in which a diverse group of community members come together to discover their individual strengths\, learn new skills\, gain diverse perspectives\, and create a vision for our community’s future. Knowledge and experience gained during the program are then applied in the attendees’ personal and professional lives. Graduates of the program are actively and continuously engaged with a network of other alumni and community members and organizations\, using their strengths and passions to create community change. Alumni are provided opportunities through LE to engage in community activities\, such as through nonprofit Engagement Fairs where individuals are matched with organizations they can serve.
