DESCRIPTION:This is part of the SAVI Super User Learning Series – A 6 Module Series (Sept 26-Nov 7)\nDescription of SAVI Super User Learning Series\nParticipants will have the confidence to use SAVI and to provide limited technical assistance to others on the mechanics of SAVI\, as well as the basics of data literacy\, pitfalls\, sense-making\, storytelling\, and informed decision-making. \nWho should attend?\nIdeal participants are those who are looking to have a more in-depth understanding of SAVI mechanics\, basics of data literacy\, pitfalls\, sensemaking\, storytelling\, and informed decision-making. \nUseful knowledge before attending?\nA basic understanding of how to use SAVI and some experience working with and using data may be helpful but is not required. \nAll training offerings will be virtual. You will learn the skills to put your analysis in the context of a compelling narrative and to build your argument logically and convincingly. Whatever your audience\, weaving the data into a story is what communicates your findings to others\, whether it be a small data set\, large data set\, or multiple data sets. \nWHO SHOULD ATTEND? \nAnyone interested in taking the next step from understanding their data and visualizing it\, to telling a cohesive story to others about their data. \nWHAT WILL YOU LEARN? \n\nTo find the compelling narrative in your data\nTo connect facts that build a compelling argument\nTo use compelling graphics to communicate your point\nTo tailor your delivery to your audiences needs\n\nUSEFUL KNOWLEDGE TO HAVE BEFORE ATTENDING \nNo prior knowledge is required\, but you may find it useful to attend the Module 1A: Framing the Problem workshop prior to this one. In that workshop you learn how to frame problems so that you have specific and measurable questions that can help you meet your goals. You may also want to consider attending the Module 2A: Finding Existing Data workshop which explores where to find existing data and how to choose the right data source for answering your questions.

SUMMARY:2023 Nonprofit Excellence Symposium
DESCRIPTION:The Nonprofit Excellence Symposium brings together professionals from local businesses and nonprofits for a half-day of workshops\, presentations\, idea sharing\, and networking open to USI students and anyone who works in or is interested in the nonprofit sector. \nPast symposium presentations have included topics such as leadership\, legal issues facing nonprofits\, grant writing\, crisis management\, and digital marketing strategies. \nEach year\, a featured speaker is also selected based on a lifetime contribution to the nonprofit sector.
