DESCRIPTION:The Fundamentals of Nonprofit Management course is designed to assist participants’ understanding in the foundational components of a nonprofit. SUMMARY:2023 Nonprofit Excellence Symposium
DESCRIPTION:The Nonprofit Excellence Symposium brings together professionals from local businesses and nonprofits for a half-day of workshops\, presentations\, idea sharing\, and networking open to USI students and anyone who works in or is interested in the nonprofit sector. \nPast symposium presentations have included topics such as leadership\, legal issues facing nonprofits\, grant writing\, crisis management\, and digital marketing strategies. \nEach year\, a featured speaker is also selected based on a lifetime contribution to the nonprofit sector. It presents an opportunity for an individual who has contributed greatly to the enhancement of their organization and the professionalization of the sector to share their perspectives on the impact of the nonprofit sector. \nThe symposium is open to anyone who works in or is interested in the nonprofit sector and includes a half day of professional development workshops.  This year’s symposium will two keynote addresses\, workshop sessions on a diverse range of nonprofit topics and opportunities for idea sharing. \nThe cost of the conference is $25 and includes all workshops\, continental breakfast\, buffet lunch and all program materials.  Register online here. \nThis year’s workshops include: \n\nUnderstanding the donor perspective\nRisk management for nonprofits\nManaging your brand in a time of change\nStrategies for employee benefits\nMany more\n\n If you have any questions about the Nonprofit Excellence Symposium\, please contact Trent Engbers at taengbers@usi.edu.

DESCRIPTION:This is part of the SAVI Super User Learning Series – A 6 Module Series (Sept 26-Nov 7)\nDescription of SAVI Super User Learning Series\nParticipants will have the confidence to use SAVI and to provide limited technical assistance to others on the mechanics of SAVI\, as well as the basics of data literacy\, pitfalls\, sense-making\, storytelling\, and informed decision-making. \nWho should attend?\nIdeal participants are those who are looking to have a more in-depth understanding of SAVI mechanics\, basics of data literacy\, pitfalls\, sensemaking\, storytelling\, and informed decision-making. \nUseful knowledge before attending?\nA basic understanding of how to use SAVI and some experience working with and using data may be helpful but is not required. \nAll training offerings will be virtual. In that workshop you learn how to frame problems with specific and measurable questions that can help you meet your goals.
