SUMMARY:From Data Frustrations to Better Decisions🔒
DESCRIPTION:Your organization may have data\, dashboards\, platforms\, evaluations\, or reporting processes\, but are they actually helping people make better decisions? \nIn many organizations\, data and technology efforts stall not because the tools are wrong\, but because the learning system around them is incomplete. This 90-minute interactive session from DARO will help participants think beyond tools and better understand what it takes to build a learning system that supports action. \nDARO will introduce its Learning System framework and four key stages: \n\nDiscovery\nDesign\nLaunch\nOperation\n\nUsing real organizational examples from IPA members\, DARO will walk through the kinds of questions to ask at each stage\, what needs to be in place\, and what outputs can help move work from frustration to action. \nYou may also work in small groups to apply the framework to their own data\, technology\, evaluation\, or decision-making challenges. \nThis training is free for Indiana Philanthropy Alliance members.

SUMMARY:SAVI Data Literacy Skills Training – Tell Stories with Data
DESCRIPTION:This workshop teaches the next steps of persuasively communicating what you have learned after gaining initial insight from data. You will learn the skills to put your analysis in the context of a compelling narrative and to build your argument logically and convincingly. Whatever your audience\, weaving the data into a story is what communicates your findings to others\, whether it be a small data set\, large data set\, or multiple data sets. \nWHO SHOULD ATTEND? \nAnyone interested in taking the next step from understanding their data and visualizing it\, to telling a cohesive story to others about their data. \nWHAT WILL YOU LEARN? \n\nTo find the compelling narrative in your data\nTo connect facts that build a compelling argument\nTo use compelling graphics to communicate your point\nTo tailor your delivery to your audiences needs\n\nUSEFUL KNOWLEDGE TO HAVE BEFORE ATTENDING \nNo prior knowledge is required\, but you may find it useful to attend the Module 1A: Framing the Problem workshop prior to this one. In that workshop you learn how to frame problems so that you have specific and measurable questions that can help you meet your goals. You may also want to consider attending the SAVI Data\, Tools\, and Other Resources workshop which explores where and how to find data in SAVI.  \nThis offering is hosted by The Polis Center\, the creators of SAVI. Through this offering\, they will use the Central Indiana map\, but the lessons remain the same for Southern Indiana region.

SUMMARY:Unlocking Evaluation Success with Program Theory & Logic Models
DESCRIPTION:Program theory provides a roadmap for understanding how programs are supposed to work and how activities should lead to intended outcomes. Conversely\, when program theory is not well-defined\, problems will inevitably emerge that weaken both the program and its evaluation. This session provides an opportunity to dig deeper into program theory and strengthening evaluation efforts through helping clients identify\, clarify\, and communicate program theory. In this workshop session\, we’ll explore: \n·        What program theory is and how clearly articulating it can strengthen program delivery and management practices. \n·        How to communicate program theory through several strategies including basic and detailed logic models. \n·        Tools and templates that can be used to help staff and leaders develop\, revise\, and articulate program theory.

SUMMARY:Giving For Impact – Level 1\, Day 2
DESCRIPTION:As a donor\, do you ever question whether your donations are having the impact you expect?  Do you often feel like you are just writing checks to organizations because they asked or because it makes you feel good? \nOver the past eight years\, our program\, Giving for Impact\, has made a tremendous difference in how people donate and partner with nonprofits. \nThe sole purpose of our training is to equip attendees with knowledge and help in developing relationships with the nonprofit community.  The training encourages individuals to learn more about who they are as donors by teaching them to identify their personal mission\, vision\, and core values to create charitable impact.  As a donor\, they will be equipped to know how to find fulfillment in their giving. \nOnce an individual understands who they are as a donor\, the program will build on that understanding by equipping them with knowledge of what a strong nonprofit organization looks like.  Donors will learn how to ask the right questions when meeting with a nonprofit and how to determine if they are actually making a difference.  Participants will learn what a healthy nonprofit partnership looks like and be able to create their own personal plan and philosophy of giving. \nThe 2026 Level I sessions are planned for March 5 and April 9. \nGiving for Impact is a great training program for individual donors as well as family foundations\, financial advisors\, wealth managers\, CPA’s\, estate planners\, attorneys or trust advisors. Regardless if you donate $50.00 per year or $50\,000.00 per year\, Giving for Impact is for anyone who desires to have a clearer understanding of themselves as a donor and has a desire to make a greater impact through their giving. \nJamie D. Levy\, from JDLevy & Associates\, an international speaker\, consultant\, and adjunct professor at Indiana University School of Philanthropy\, IU Fund Raising School\, and IU Paul H. O’Neill School of Public and Environment Affairs (IU SPEA)\, will guide you through understanding the strategies involved in making wise decisions regarding your philanthropic giving.  To learn more about Mr. Levy and JDLevy & Associates visit their website www.JDLevyAssociates.com \nThis training is supported through donations from Jim and Carol Havens\, JDLevy & Associates\, Community Foundation Alliance\, and the Welborn Baptist Foundation.  These donations allow Giving for Impact to offer this series at no cost to you. \nIf you have questions or would like additional information please do not hesitate to contact: Carol Havens havenscs@gmail.com  812-453-8654  Cara Steinkuhl carasteinkuhl@gmail.com 812-455-4321 or Jamie Levy jlevy@jdlevyassociates.com
