DESCRIPTION:Join the Urban Institute’s Upward Mobility Initiative for a virtual workshop focused on how local leaders can use data to better understand community conditions\, identify strategic priorities\, and advance upward mobility from poverty. \nParticipants will hear directly from local leaders who are using the Upward Mobility Framework\, Mobility Metrics\, and local data sources to shape planning\, align stakeholders\, prioritize investments\, and monitor progress. \nThe workshop will feature \n\na live walk-through of the Upward Mobility Data Dashboard and how communities can use it alongside local data\,\npractical examples from local leaders using data to understand and address barriers to upward mobility in their communities\, and\nopportunities for attendees to reflect on their own community contexts and ask questions throughout the session.\n\nWhether you’re starting your planning process or strengthening a data-driven approach\, this session offers practical insights and tools to inform every stage\, from assessing local conditions to implementing solutions.

SUMMARY:Unlocking Evaluation Success with Program Theory & Logic Models
DESCRIPTION:Program theory provides a roadmap for understanding how programs are supposed to work and how activities should lead to intended outcomes. Conversely\, when program theory is not well-defined\, problems will inevitably emerge that weaken both the program and its evaluation. This session provides an opportunity to dig deeper into program theory and strengthening evaluation efforts through helping clients identify\, clarify\, and communicate program theory. In this workshop session\, we’ll explore: \n·        What program theory is and how clearly articulating it can strengthen program delivery and management practices. \n·        How to communicate program theory through several strategies including basic and detailed logic models. \n·        Tools and templates that can be used to help staff and leaders develop\, revise\, and articulate program theory.
