SUMMARY:HOLA Professional Development Series
DESCRIPTION:Since its foundation in 2002 as a nonprofit organization\, HOLA has been dedicated to fostering appreciation for cultural diversity and promoting the successful inclusion of Latinos in the community. In collaboration with Ivy Tech Community College\, the University of Evansville\, the University of Southern Indiana and the Evansville Regional Economic Partnership (E-REP)\, we developed a comprehensive leadership series aimed at achieving the following outcome: To equip participants with advanced professional development training that enhances their skills\,\nexpands their knowledge\, and sharpens their strategic thinking. This training empowers participants to navigate complex challenges\, make meaningful contributions\, and foster a culture of innovation\, belonging\, and continuous growth within their workplaces\, communities\, and organizations. \nThe Fourth Cohort will start at Ivy Tech Community College on August 1st\, 2025. \nNote: These six one-day sessions will be held over a year\, rotating between Ivy Tech Community College\, University of Evansville\, and University of Southern Indiana. DESCRIPTION:This is a 4-part virtual workshop series with the ability to participate in the training subjects that interest you and your organization. Participants will learn the 4 components of a data-informed organization\, learning how to set up processes and structure\, as well as the why behind using the data as an asset for program improvement\, and external strategies shaping next steps instead of simply an obligation of compliance. Best practice approaches will be shared\, gaining templates\, and resources for practical use. USING DATA TO INFORM PROGRAM IMPROVEMENT will focus on helping participants understand how to use their data to inform program improvement. This training will be presented by Transform Consulting Group. BECOMING A DATA-INFORMED ORGANIZATION session will focus on helping participants understand the why behind using data so they can view data as an asset for shaping next steps instead of simply an obligation to remain compliant.

These resources are versatile and applicable across numerous disciplines\, including health\, public safety\, public policy\, economics\, history\, archaeology\, geography\, planning\, informatics\, and more. \nA key feature of the webinar is SAVI\, an online platform offering free interactive mapping and analysis tools\, downloadable databases\, reports\, and data literacy workshops. SAVI provides access to thousands of data variables detailing the socio-economic characteristics of Indiana communities over multiple decades. Data themes include demographic trends\, social determinants of health\, social services\, crime\, education\, and more. The webinar will also present examples of how SAVI resources have been utilized to support university research and teaching. \nAdditionally\, the webinar introduces ArcGIS Online\, a tool for creating customized\, interactive maps and dashboards that can enrich course content and support research. Participants will also learn about the extensive array of Indiana demographic and environmental geospatial data resources and training available to faculty and students.
