EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Grow, a capacity-building platform supported by Welborn, has partnered with global digital credentialing leader Credly to introduce verified digital badges for nonprofit professionals—marking a significant step toward strengthening the nonprofit workforce and improving community outcomes across the Greater Evansville region.
Beginning this spring, participants in Grow training programs will earn industry-recognized digital credentials that validate their skills in areas such as strategy, operations, marketing, and fundraising. These badges, issued through Credly, provide a transparent and verifiable way for nonprofit leaders to demonstrate their expertise and commitment to organizational excellence.
While the initiative directly benefits nonprofit professionals, its broader impact extends to the regional business community.
Nonprofits play a critical role in workforce development, quality of life, and economic stability. By equipping nonprofit leaders with credentialed training, Grow is helping ensure that organizations receiving philanthropic and corporate investment are prepared to deliver measurable, effective results.
“Strong nonprofits are essential to a strong regional economy,” said Pat Creech, Welborn CEO and Executive Director. “This credentialing initiative helps signal to businesses, funders, and partners that nonprofit leaders are building the skills and systems needed to operate effectively, steward resources responsibly, and deliver real impact.”
Digital credentials can be shared on LinkedIn, websites, and email signatures, offering increased visibility into the skills and capabilities of nonprofit professionals. For businesses and funders, these credentials provide added confidence that community partners are investing in professional development and operational rigor.
Grow will begin issuing badges with its first eligible training on April 15, 2026: “Building a Strategic & Tactical Marketing & Philanthropic Process and Infrastructure.” Additional trainings throughout the year will offer credentialed participation, creating an expanding pipeline of skilled nonprofit leaders across the region.
This initiative positions Grow as a leader in nonprofit workforce development—aligning professional training with credentialing systems commonly used in the private sector. By doing so, Grow is helping elevate standards, increase accountability, and strengthen the overall effectiveness of the nonprofit sector.
