    An Advanced Guide to Philanthropic Effectiveness Grantmaking 201 is a two-day course that offers a next-level look at effective grant management processes. We will dig deep into emerging trends and learn strategies to refine the purpose, enhance the practice, and maximize the impact of your giving. Learning Objectives Purpose of Philanthropy Develop strategies to match your goals and priorities using six grantmaking models: responsive, strategic, proactive, collaborative, initiative, and participatory. Discuss trends shaping philanthropy, such as strategic grantmaking and impact investing. Learn how to stay nimble, adapt, and earn trust. Practice of Philanthropy Explore effective grant management processes, including developing and communicating criteria, accepting and reviewing applications, conducting site visits, communicating funding decisions, and measuring effectiveness. Learn how to read and review key financial documents, including IRS Form 990, grant budgets, audit reports, balance sheets, and income statements. Gain a better understanding of how you can support nonprofit capacity and how grantees perceive and utilize capacity-building efforts. Generate strategies to define grantee needs and how to assist in fulfilling their missions.
