Price: $60Time: 1:00 - 2:30 p.m.Location: Room 203, University LibraryInstructor: Wes Luttrell Artificial intelligence is no longer a futuristic idea. It already shapes how people search, write, plan, learn, create, and communicate. AI can feel confusing, intimidating, or overhyped; this course makes it understandable, useful, and approachable. Over five weeks, participants will learn to use AI as a practical everyday tool. Each class focuses on one core principle, then demonstrates it through real-life examples participants can repeat on their own. We will cover everyday use around the house, better prompting, travel planning, information on the go, hobbies, creative projects, and a personal prompt library. The course will primarily use ChatGPT because it is widely available, beginner-friendly, and useful across many everyday situations. A free account is sufficient to participate. Those who want to use AI more after the course may explore a paid version, though none is required. The tone of the course is practical, hands-on, and beginner-friendly, and participants need no technical background. The goal isn’t to turn participants into technology experts, but to help them become confident, thoughtful, and capable everyday users of AI. University of Evansville 1800 Lincoln Ave, Evansville, IN, United States

Strong decision-making begins with strong thinking. In today's fast-paced workplace, it's easy to rely on assumptions, react too quickly, or overlook the factors that lead to better outcomes. This interactive workshop will help you strengthen your critical thinking skills so you can make more informed, confident decisions when facing complex challenges. Participants will learn how to recognize the cognitive biases that can influence judgment, use a practical framework to uncover the root cause of workplace problems, and apply proven techniques to evaluate situations more effectively. Throughout the session, you'll work through real-world examples and leave with actionable strategies you can immediately apply in your own role. Learning Outcomes Identify cognitive biases and assumptions that commonly distort workplace decisions. Apply a structured method to diagnose the root cause of ambiguous problems instead of jumping to solutions. Reframe a current workplace challenge using the tools from the session and develop a concrete next step for moving forward. Dr. Timothy A. (Tad) Dickel serves as the Executive in Residence in Leadership and the Faculty Director of the Master of Science in Leadership program at the University of Evansville. In addition, he is the President of T.A. Dickel Group, LLC and serves as a leadership […]
