    Using Data to Drive Upward Mobility: Practical Lessons From Communities

    Join the Urban Institute’s Upward Mobility Initiative for a virtual workshop focused on how local leaders can use data to better understand community conditions, identify strategic priorities, and advance upward mobility from poverty. Participants will hear directly from local leaders who are using the Upward Mobility Framework, Mobility Metrics, and local data sources to shape planning, align stakeholders, prioritize investments, and monitor progress. The workshop will feature a live walk-through of the Upward Mobility Data Dashboard and how communities can use it alongside local data, practical examples from local leaders using data to understand and address barriers to upward mobility in their communities, and opportunities for attendees to reflect on their own community contexts and ask questions throughout the session. Whether you’re starting your planning process or strengthening a data-driven approach, this session offers practical insights and tools to inform every stage, from assessing local conditions to implementing solutions.

    CDFI Innovations in Improving Access to Small-Dollar Credit

    For many American households, rising costs of living and stagnating wages may mean a greater need for credit to bridge temporary cash flow gaps or to weather short-term emergencies. But access to affordable credit remains a significant challenge. To meet this need, several financial products are emerging to help borrowers access credit and build credit profiles. New lending models have found ways to improve credit access for borrowers while minimizing lender risk. This webinar will feature a panel of speakers who are taking new and innovative community development financial institutions (CDFI) approaches to small-dollar lending and credit building.     Introduction to Grantwriting for Faith Leaders

    Please note, this is a multiday series. The listed date is for the first session only. Introduction to Grantwriting for Faith Leaders has three basic objectives: Consider the role that grant funding can play in your organization’s whole approach to resources Learn about basic fundraising tools from the perspective of grant funding Receive practical tools and strategies to find and successfully write grants Bonus: Discover tools and practices for evaluation and keeping track of activities throughout the reporting period Date and structure of program: The online learning platform opens Thursday, July 30; the first plenary session is Thursday, August 6. The class will meet live online one time each week via Zoom: – Thursdays (August 6-20): Interactive 90 minute plenary session at 2:00-3:30 pm Eastern Time. – Bonus session on Thursday, August 27 at 2:00 pm Eastern. Additional resources provided through the learning platform. In total, you can expect about two hours each week for synchronous and asynchronous lessons. Cost: $299 Cancellations made by July 27, 2026 may receive a refund of the amount paid less a $15 processing fee. Cancellations after that date may transfer to another offering.
