    Evansville Metropolitan Transportation Plan 2045 (MTP)

    The MTP is a long-range planning document that identifies transportation deficiencies, policies, strategies, and projects over the next two decades. It is updated on a four-year cycle. Evansville Metropolitan Planning Organization coordinates the development of the MTP with local, state, and federal partners. The MTP makes the Evansville region eligible to receive federal transportation funding to improve, maintain and operate highways, public transit, bikeways, sidewalks, and related facilities.

    Evansville Region Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO)

    The Metropolitan Planning Organization is responsible for conducting a continuous, cooperative, and comprehensive transportation process for the Vanderburgh, Warrick, IN and Henderson, KY area. A small part of Posey, IN is also served. The EMPO is an independent policy body that is comprised of elected or appointed officials from the metropolitan area and representatives from state and local transportation agencies. This principle of regional collaboration is affirmed by the broad coalition engagement. Resources include publications of master plans and links to local, state, and federal partners.

    Evansville, Indiana Bicycle and Pedestrian Connectivity Master Plan

    To guide future investments in bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure and programming, the City of Evansville and the Evansville Metropolitan Planning Organization have undertaken an extensive, community-driven planning process to create the Evansville Bicycle and Pedestrian Connectivity Master Plan (the Plan). The Plan outlines a vision for walking and bicycling in Evansville, with clear and concise goals and objectives to help achieve that vision. The Plan also includes infra-structure and program recommendations that are supported by an action-oriented implementation strategy to sustain momentum and progress for years to come.
